Influencer Seeding and PR Kits

The right size, the right note and a box worth filming, sent to hundreds of people without pulling your sellable stock out from under you.

Seeding Is Fulfillment With Higher Stakes

A seeding box goes to someone who might show it to a large audience. The wrong size gets no post. A crushed box gets the wrong kind of post. And a seeding run pulled from sellable stock can leave your best sizes short the week the posts go live.

    What a seeding run needs:

  • A clean list

Names, addresses and the size each person wears, in one agreed format.
  • A kit worth opening

Branded box, tissue, cards and stickers, assembled the same way every time.
  • Separate stock

Seeding units set aside so they do not count as sellable.
  • Tracking

Delivery confirmation so your team knows when to follow up.

Build the List Like an Order File

Most seeding mistakes start in the spreadsheet. Treat the list as an order file:

  • One row per person, one size per garment, written the same way as your SKUs.
  • Complete shipping addresses, checked before the file goes to the warehouse.
  • A column for the personal note, if each box gets one.
  • A column for the kit version, if different people get different products.

Agree with your account manager on how the list enters the warehouse system, so every box ships as a tracked order with the right contents.

Assembling the Kits

For creator and influencer programs, the unboxing is usually the point. OC3PL can assemble branded boxes, seasonal cards, tissue wrap, sticker sheets and gift kits, then replicate your approved sample across the entire run with quality checks.

  1. Send packaging materials ahead of the inventory, or ask about sourcing. OC3PL can source common components or use your supplied packaging.
  2. Approve a sample kit before the run starts.
  3. Kits are built to stock ahead of the send, or to order as each address is processed. Most builds are completed within 24 to 48 hours.
  4. Each box is checked against the approved sample before it is sealed.

Personal notes, size stickers on polybags and marketing cards can be written into the packing procedure for each kit, so the hundredth box looks like the first. See apparel kitting and bundles.

Keep Seeding Stock Separate

Decide before the run which units are for seeding. Pull them from sellable inventory as a set quantity per size, and keep them out of the counts your store sees.

If seeding goes out right before a launch, check that the remaining sellable stock still covers your forecast by size. A seeding run that takes most of your mediums can leave the launch short. Size curve planning helps here.

Slow styles can be good seeding stock. Using them clears units that are not selling and puts them in front of new audiences. See dead stock in apparel.

Timing the Send

Seeding works best when boxes land before the product goes on sale, so posts and the launch overlap. Work back from the launch date: kits built, then shipped, then delivered, then posted.

Orders imported by 12 PM PST ship the same day. Once tracking flows back, your team knows who has received a box and when to follow up. If a box goes missing, the account manager escalates with the carrier directly rather than handing you a tracking number to chase.

Measuring a Seeding Run

Seeding is marketing, but the warehouse data makes it measurable. Keep a simple record for every run.

RecordWhy it matters
Boxes sent, by kit versionThe real cost of the run, in units and materials
Delivery date per boxWhen to expect posts, and when to follow up
Sizes sentWhether creators’ sizes match your stock plan
Posts and sales after deliveryWhich creators and kits to repeat

Your team owns the marketing results. The warehouse provides the record of what went to whom and when it arrived. Together they show which seeding runs are worth repeating.

Repeat runs get easier. Once an approved sample and packing procedure exist, the next run is a new list and a date. Tell your account manager when the next one is coming, and the materials and labor are planned.

How OC3PL Runs a Seeding Program

From list to doorstep.

  • Right size, by scan

  • Shipped as tracked orders

Tracking for every box, so your team knows when to follow up.

  • Someone on site

Your account manager works on site at our Anaheim fulfillment center, in the same building as your inventory. When something is urgent you call and talk to a person who can walk to the shelf and fix it. Call anytime. We are here. We got you.
