Receiving with a record
Inbound matched to your ASN, every SKU photographed, discrepancies flagged.

Two brands, one release, one chance to get it right. Agree on the logistics before you agree on the colorway.
A collab doubles the audience and the hype. It also doubles the people who think they are in charge of inventory, packaging and customer service. Most collab problems are not about demand. They are about two brands assuming the other one handled something.
| Model | How it works | Good for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| One brand sells and ships | All units go to one brand’s warehouse; that brand’s store sells the collab | Simplest logistics, one source of truth | The partner needs sales and stock reporting |
| Both sell, one warehouse ships | Both stores list the product; orders from both flow into one warehouse | Reaching both audiences | Two stores selling one pool: sync and buffers matter |
| Split inventory | Each brand receives part of the run and ships its own orders | Brands with very different channels | One side sells out while the other sits |
The second model needs the warehouse connected to both stores, with one inventory pool and careful per-size buffers. See one apparel inventory across every channel.
Give every collab size and color its own SKU and barcode, distinct from both brands’ regular lines. Reusing an existing SKU for a collab colorway is how the wrong product ends up in the wrong box.
At OC3PL inbound is matched to the ASN with every SKU photographed, and anything that does not match is flagged in your portal. That record matters more than usual when two brands share the stock.
The unboxing is part of what customers are paying for. Agree on the mailer, tissue, stickers and inserts, then send the materials to the warehouse with the inventory.
For co-branded presentations, build an approved sample first. OC3PL can assemble branded boxes, seasonal cards, tissue wrap, sticker sheets and gift kits, then replicate the approved sample across the whole run with quality checks. If a kit is part of the release, most builds are completed within 24 to 48 hours. See apparel kitting and bundles.
On launch day, the person you call should be standing near the packing line. At OC3PL your account manager works on site. All client requests are acknowledged within two hours, and support is never outsourced. We’re here, we got you.
For the general drop timeline, see apparel drop fulfillment and planning a streetwear drop.
Collabs end with a split: of revenue, of leftover stock, and sometimes of costs. Agree on the numbers you will use before launch, so nobody argues about them after.
At OC3PL invoicing is weekly with every line item spelled out, and inventory is visible by SKU, so the data for the split already exists. Decide who receives the reports and how often.
Leftover collab stock is a decision, not a default. Agree in advance whether it stays in one brand’s inventory, gets divided, or goes into an archive sale or bundles.
Customers do not care which brand handles their question. They want one answer. Before launch, decide which team answers order questions, which answers product questions, and how they hand off to each other.
Give both teams the same ship-time message, the same return policy and the same escalation contact at the warehouse. When a question needs someone to check a shelf or a package, that contact is your account manager, who works on site.
The warehouse side, whichever model you choose.

Usually one warehouse. Splitting inventory between two brands often leaves one side sold out while the other still has stock.
Yes, if both stores are connected. Orders from each flow into one warehouse system and ship from one inventory pool.
Yes. Give every collab size and color its own SKU and barcode, separate from both brands’ regular lines.
Yes. Packing follows your instructions, and an approved sample can be replicated across the whole run with quality checks.
Agree before launch. The warehouse can process returns within 48 hours and restock, hold or send them wherever the two brands decide.
Agree before launch. Common options are one brand keeping it, dividing it by SKU, or clearing it through a sale or bundles. The warehouse can pull and ship units wherever you decide.
