Orders reach the same warehouse system
Every order, from every channel, lands in the OC3PL warehouse management system regardless of how it got there.

Two routes into the same warehouse. The difference is setup, not capability.
OC3PL connects most platforms straight into the warehouse management system, and separately runs ShipStation as a hub. The hub is the backup integration path for any store that cannot be mapped directly — and the fast path for anyone already running several channels through ShipStation today.
A direct connection maps your store straight into the OC3PL warehouse management system. The hub routes orders through ShipStation, which OC3PL runs as a hub and which serves as the backup integration path for any store that cannot be mapped directly. Direct connections are live the same business day; hub connections take two to three business days. Everything after the connection is identical.
Go direct if you sell on one or two mainstream platforms with supported connectors — it is fewer moving parts and faster to live. Use the hub if you are already running several channels through ShipStation, because they all flow across at once with no per-channel setup, or if your platform has no direct connector.
No. Orders reach the same warehouse management system, draw on the same single inventory pool, and push tracking and inventory back the same way. The route in is a setup decision rather than a capability one — the practical difference is the two to three business day turnaround instead of same day.
The route in is a setup decision. What happens afterwards is identical.

Stock is not split by route. Direct and hub channels draw on the same position.
Inventory levels and tracking numbers return to the platform that notifies your customer.
Mapping, SKU matching, test orders and go-live are handled either way. The ask from you is a credential or an app install.
