Wholesale and B2B Order Fulfillment

Purchase orders and DTC orders, shipping from the same warehouse.

Two Businesses, One Warehouse

Wholesale and direct-to-consumer are different operations wearing the same inventory. A DTC order is one parcel to a doorstep; a wholesale order is a routed, labelled, palletized shipment against a retailer’s own guide, where the penalty for getting the paperwork wrong is a chargeback. OC3PL builds workflows around both sides so they ship from the same warehouse and the same stock.

    What the wholesale side covers:

  • Purchase order review and routing

POs reviewed and routed per retailer, following each retailer’s routing guide rather than a single house process.
  • Retail-compliant and GS1 labeling

Labeling built to the retailer’s specification, which is where most chargeback exposure actually sits.
  • ASN processing and EDI

Advance shipping notice processing and EDI integrations for major retailers.
  • Palletized shipping — for retail POs

Retailer purchase orders ship as pallets built to that retailer’s requirement. Faire is the exception and is covered below: it does not support pallet shipping at all, so Faire orders move as parcels.

Selling Wholesale Through Faire

Faire is the wholesale marketplace OC3PL connects to directly, and its orders are treated as B2B rather than as individual parcels.

  • How it connects

Direct to the OC3PL warehouse management system. Wholesale orders sync as B2B.

  • Faire ships parcels, not pallets

Faire does not support pallet, expedited or overnight shipping, so a Faire order is a parcel shipment even though it is a wholesale order. Worth knowing before you assume your retail workflow covers it. Checked September 2026.

  • The 30-day cancellation window

Faire automatically cancels orders not fulfilled within 30 days of the expected ship date, and your lead time is what sets that date. Set a lead time you can hold. Checked September 2026.

  • And the DTC side alongside it

The same inventory pool serves your storefront and your marketplaces, so wholesale and DTC are not two stock positions to reconcile.

  • Retail-ready displays

Kitting builds retail-ready displays that ship pre-assembled, so the shelf set does not get built in the aisle.

Common Questions

Yes. OC3PL builds workflows around both sides of the business so direct-to-consumer orders and wholesale purchase orders ship from the same warehouse. The retail and wholesale fulfillment service covers purchase order review and routing, retail-compliant labeling, advance shipping notice processing, EDI integrations for major retailers and palletized shipping. Weekly reporting includes a fulfillment and service level review so compliance issues surface early.

Yes. Beyond Amazon, OC3PL handles retail-compliant labeling, advance shipping notice processing, GS1-compliant labels, purchase order routing per retailer and palletized shipping, following retailer routing guides and providing weekly service level reports. Its kitting service also builds retail-ready displays that ship pre-assembled. Chargeback exposure usually comes from routing and labeling detail, so share your retailer’s guide early.

Faire connects directly to the OC3PL warehouse management system, and wholesale orders sync as B2B rather than as individual consumer parcels. Connecting requires an API token from the Faire brand portal, and the connection is live the same business day.
