Shopify Apparel Fulfillment

Every size and color mapped, every order synced, tracking pushed back to your store. And a person on site when it matters.

Built Around How Apparel Brands Use Shopify

Most apparel brands we talk to run on Shopify. OC3PL connects to your store so orders flow into the warehouse management system, get picked and packed, and the tracking number is pushed back to Shopify so your store sends its own shipping confirmation.

What a Shopify apparel brand gets:

  • Connected in under five business days

For standard platforms like Shopify, the integration is completed in under five business days. Most clients go live within five to ten business days overall.
  • Every variant mapped

Each size and color in your store is matched to its own SKU and barcode in the warehouse, and test orders are run before inventory moves.
  • Tracking back to Shopify

Once an order ships, tracking is pushed to Shopify, which sends the customer its own shipping confirmation.
  • Size- and color-sorted slotting

Every style is slotted by size and color, so a picker reaching for a medium in black is not digging through a bin of mixed sizes. A new collection is slotted and ready to ship within one business day of receipt.
  • Returns apps supported

Our integrations directory includes Loop, Happy Returns, AfterShip Returns, Narvar and ReturnGo.
  • Someone on site

Your account manager works on site at our Anaheim fulfillment center, in the same building as your inventory. When something is urgent you call and talk to a person who can walk to the shelf and fix it. Call anytime. We are here. We got you.

How the Connection Works

Orders in, tracking out, inventory in step.

A Shopify integration is the link between your store and our warehouse management system. When a customer checks out, the order flows to the warehouse without anyone exporting a spreadsheet. When it ships, the tracking number flows back.

  1. You connect your Shopify store during onboarding.
  2. We map your catalog: every product, size and color matched to a warehouse SKU and barcode.
  3. We run test orders to confirm the right items, packing rules and shipping services come through.
  4. Inventory arrives, is received against your advance shipping notice and is slotted by size and color.
  5. Live orders flow to the warehouse, are picked with a scan, packed and shipped.
  6. Tracking is pushed back to Shopify, which notifies the customer.

Inventory levels update as items are received and shipped, which helps prevent selling stock you do not have. If you sell in other channels as well, see one inventory across channels.

Getting Your Variants Right Before Go-Live

Most Shopify fulfillment problems on apparel start in the product data.

A tee in five sizes and four colors is one product in Shopify and twenty SKUs in a warehouse. If those twenty variants do not each have a unique SKU and barcode, the warehouse cannot tell them apart reliably. Clean data before go-live saves weeks of confusion after.

CheckWhat good looks likeCommon problem
SKU per variantEvery size and color has its own SKUBlank SKUs, or one SKU shared across sizes
Barcode per variantA scannable barcode on each unit and bagBarcode only on the carton
Naming patternStyle, color, size in the same order every timeMixed patterns across collections
Archived variantsRetired sizes and colors removed or archivedOld variants still live and selling
BundlesEach bundle defined with its componentsBundles that exist only as a discount code

Our guides on size and color variants and apparel barcodes explain each of these. Your onboarding manager will review your catalog with you before we connect, so issues are fixed before they reach a customer.

Drops and Launches on Shopify

Shopify makes it easy to launch a collection at a set time. That is good for marketing and hard on a warehouse that did not know about it. A drop scheduled for 9 AM produces a morning of orders that all need to ship.

Tell us the launch date, the expected order count, the styles and the size curve. Labor is scheduled from that forecast. Bundles can be built ahead, most in 24 to 48 hours, so launch day is just picking and shipping. Orders imported by 12 PM PST ship the same day.

If a launch sells faster than forecast, call your account manager. They are on site and can move people onto your orders while the drop is live. For a full timeline, see apparel drop fulfillment. If bots or duplicate orders are a problem on your drops, see bots, cancellations and order holds.

The Apps Around Your Store

Keep the stack you already use.

Apparel brands on Shopify rarely run the store alone. A typical stack includes a returns app, an email and SMS platform, a reviews app and sometimes a subscription or preorder app. OC3PL integrates with over ninety ecommerce, shipping and CRM tools, and the onboarding page names Shopify, Amazon, Klaviyo, WooCommerce and ShipStation among the integrations set up during launch.

  • Returns: Loop, Happy Returns, AfterShip Returns, Narvar and ReturnGo are in our integrations directory.
  • Subscriptions: Recharge, Bold and Skio are supported, and you are not required to use any particular app.
  • Other channels: Amazon, TikTok Shop, WooCommerce and BigCommerce sit alongside Shopify.
  • Anything else: if a connector does not exist, the in-house team builds it.

Because apps change quickly, confirm during onboarding exactly what data syncs both ways for each tool you rely on. Our guide to the apparel ecommerce tech stack explains what each layer does.

Returns and Exchanges From Shopify Orders

Returns are processed and logged within 48 hours of receipt, and many are handled the same day. Each item is inspected and restocked, discarded or donated by the rules you set.

If you use a returns app, the customer experience stays the same while we handle receiving, inspection and restocking. If you do not, an optional branded RMA portal keeps returns consistent with your store. Restockable items go back into active inventory, which flows back to Shopify, so a returned medium can sell again.

Monthly reports show return reasons by SKU. That is the data to fix size charts and product photos. See apparel returns and exchanges and how returns portals work.

Shipping Options Your Customers See

Your Shopify checkout shows the shipping options you configure. The warehouse ships each order using the service it was paid for, rate-shopped across major carriers including UPS, FedEx, USPS and DHL plus regional partners. Shipping is billed at what the carrier charges.

From Southern California, West Coast customers are in the nearest shipping zones. Because the warehouse sits near major carrier sorting hubs, packages can be handed off later in the day and still make that night’s outbound. See carrier management and shipping speed.

Moving Your Shopify Store to OC3PL Without Downtime

Customers should not notice the switch.

Switching warehouses on a live Shopify store is mostly a question of order. Connect first, test, then move stock in waves, so orders keep shipping the whole time.

  1. Connect your store and map every variant to a warehouse SKU.
  2. Run test orders through the new connection before any stock moves.
  3. Ship the bulk of inventory to Anaheim with an advance shipping notice. Keep cover stock at the old warehouse.
  4. Switch fulfillment for daily orders once stock is received and slotted.
  5. Update the return address in Shopify and your returns app.
  6. Run your next drop only after daily orders have run cleanly.

Most clients go live within five to ten business days, depending on complexity. See switching apparel 3PLs and switching 3PL integrations without downtime.

Common Shopify Fulfillment Problems and Their Fixes

ProblemUsual causeFix
Order not reaching the warehouseA new variant added without a SKUAdd SKUs before publishing new variants
Wrong item shippedTwo variants share a barcodeUnique barcode for every size and color
Overselling after a dropStock not reconciled after receivingReceive against an ASN; check discrepancies in the portal
Bundle shipped incompleteBundle defined only as a discountDefine each bundle and its components
Customer never got trackingNotification settings in ShopifyCheck shipping confirmation settings in your store

Most of these are caught during onboarding, when we review your catalog and run test orders. The rest are caught quickly because someone on site is watching your orders. See inventory accuracy across size runs.

A good habit for any apparel brand on Shopify: before publishing a new collection, check that every new variant has a SKU and a barcode, and send the list to your account manager with the advance shipping notice. That one step prevents most new-collection problems.

What a Shopify Apparel Brand Pays For

OC3PL does not publish a rate card. Pricing is quoted around your SKUs, order volume and workflows: receiving, storage pro-rated daily, pick and pack by order and item, kitting, returns and packaging, with shipping billed at what the carrier charges. There are no setup fees, no minimums and no long-term contract, and invoices are weekly.

Send us your last three months of Shopify orders, your SKU count and your average units per order, and we will price from real numbers. See apparel fulfillment pricing.

Shopify at a Thousand Orders a Month and Up

At a few hundred orders, a Shopify brand can get by with manual fixes. Past a thousand orders a month, every manual step multiplies. Small data problems that were annoying become daily problems.

  • Variants get added faster, so SKU discipline matters more.
  • Drops get bigger, so forecasts need to reach the warehouse earlier.
  • Returns climb with volume, so processing speed directly affects how much stock is sellable.
  • More apps join the stack, so each one needs to be checked against the warehouse connection.

One apparel brand on our results page grew from 500 to 5,000 orders a day over two years and moved into big-box retail without changing warehouses. The same systems work at a thousand orders a month and at many thousands a day. See apparel 3PL for 1,000 to 5,000 orders a month.

When Something Goes Wrong

Integrations are reliable until they are not. A variant gets added without a SKU. An app update changes a field. An order gets stuck. What matters is how quickly someone notices and fixes it.

Your account manager works on site at our Anaheim fulfillment center, in the same building as your inventory. When something is urgent you call and talk to a person who can walk to the shelf and fix it. Call anytime. We are here. We got you. All client requests are acknowledged within two hours, and support is never outsourced.

That is the difference between a stuck order found in an hour and one found when the customer complains. Read more on on-site account management.
